The problem
You brief a creator on the winning script. They send back their version. It is good. It is in their voice. It also dropped “give it 30 days,” which is in four of the five winners. Nobody notices until the video leaks at the payoff.
The creator will change things. That is the job. But some lines are not theirs to change.
The example
The collagen’s constants, in four of five winners, against the creator’s draft:
“Okay I was so skeptical about this. I’m not saying it’s a miracle but like, look at this. I’ve been on it since spring.”
| Constant | In the draft? |
|---|---|
| 'I'm not saying it's magic' | Changed to 'miracle'. Close, not the same. |
| 'give it 30 days' | Gone. |
| 'you can actually see it here' | Changed to 'look at this'. Close. |
One missing, two paraphrased. The skeleton is bent. What to send back is not the whole script. It is three lines, two minutes for the creator, and it saves a slot.
Because the paraphrase has not been tested and the original has. “Not magic” and “not a miracle” might work the same. Or one might land and one might not. You do not know, and the slot is real money. Use the one you know. The creator keeps everything else: the story, the setting, the tone, the hook if it is not a constant.
Do this in Verdict
- 1On Scripts, run Preflight on the creator’s draft against the script family it is built from.
- 2It lists every constant from the family and shows whether the draft kept it, changed it, or dropped it.
- 3Dropped and changed lines are your notes. Send those.
