The problem
End of month. The brand wants an update. You have 1,500 videos across 50 creators, a folder of screenshots, and a Sunday. You send a spreadsheet. The brand manager forwards it to her boss. Her boss does not open it.
The rule
A monthly report answers three questions: what worked, what didn’t and why, what’s next. If it answers more, it answers less.
Say it to a creator
“Ninety videos scaled. Seventy were day-in-life on the gummy. Day-in-life is converting at twice the rate of talking head this month.”
The example
The one page. Five blocks, under 200 words. The screenshots go in an appendix nobody has to open.
- The number. Total sales this month, and whether it is up or down from last month. One line.
- What worked. The videos that cleared the money line, and what they had in common. Not a list. A pattern.
“Ninety videos scaled. Seventy were day-in-life on the gummy. Day-in-life is converting at twice the rate of talking head this month.”
- What didn’t, and why. The leak the roster hit most. Not creator by creator.
“Four hundred videos leaked at the click. Product came in late in three hundred of them. The brief has been updated.”
- Anything the brand needs to know. Product page, price, reviews. Things you cannot fix from the creator side.
“Powder videos are clicking but not buying across all creators. Worth a look at the page.”
- Next month. Three moves.
“More day-in-life on the gummy. Product on screen by second 6 in every brief. Pausing unboxing.”
A list of 1,500 videos makes the brand do the thinking. A pattern shows them you did it. That is what they are paying for.
What not to include
Views. They make the number look good and teach the brand the wrong thing. Report sales and the rate. And never name and shame a creator in a brand report. Creator notes go to the creator.
Do this in Verdict
- 1Open the Brand Report. It pulls every creator on the brand into one screen for the month: the most common leak is block 3, the SCALE filter is block 2.
- 2Save the view for the brand and it is the same page every month with new numbers.
- 3Export to PDF for the boss who does not open spreadsheets.
